If you just like to have the nicest looking property on the block, it is important to keep up maintenance on your driveway. If you know how to kill weeds, you’ll have the nicest looking driveway in the neighborhood.

If you have a asphalt driveway, you’ll need to dig out the weeds in the cracks.You can use a screwdriver or some sharp and thin instrument to get them out of the cracks.

You can boil some water and pour the hot water on the weeds. Put together a mixture of 1 quart of vinegar, 1/4 cup of salt and 2 Tablespoons of dish-washing detergent and put the mixture in a squirt bottle and spray the area where the weeds are. It would be a good idea to fill in the cracks of your pavement when the weeds die, so no weeds would come back.

If you have weeds in your gravel, pebble or rock driveway, you need to remove the gravel and dig up the weeds. If you don’t want to go through the backbreaking experience of digging up the weeds, you can put the same water/vinegar/salt mixture on the weeds.

Be careful that you don’t spray this mixture on your lawn. Just as it keeps weeds away, it also keeps grass from growing. If you need to be killing weeds in your lawn, do this carefully. Don’t spray any harmful mixture that will kill your lawn. The best bet is to dig the weeds, especially dandelions, out of your lawn. If you get a hold of the weed before it starts spreading, it will be easier than waiting until it has spread.

If you get weeds around the edge of your driveway and you have flowers and or lawn on the edge as well, you need to learn how to kill weeds without killing your flowers or lawn . Dig them out and if they become stubborn and come back time after time, maybe you should consider planting another kind of plant there that would not let weeds grow. Something like Thyme or mint would be a strong enough plant to take over where the weeds like to grow.

Driveways are usually susceptible to weeds once they get cracks in them, so the best and least amount of headaches would be to seal the cracks in the driveway as soon as you notice it, so the weeds don’t have a chance to settle in.
